In Memoriam: An Overview of the Contributions of José Bioucas-Dias to Remote Sensing and Hyperspectral Imaging

Abstract : José Manuel Bioucas-Dias was an outstanding researcher who made many contributions to signal and image processing, with a special emphasis on remote sensing and hyperspectral imaging. His contributions have been extremely influential in many different topics, namely phase estimation and unwrapping, convex optimization, and Bayesian inference
for imaging inverse problems, with a focus on applications to remote sensing, including synthetic aperture radar, and hyperspectral unmixing, fusion, super-resolution, classification, and segmentation. In this talk, I will provide an overview of his outstanding contributions to these fields.
