Tourism
The capital of the French Alps has a rich heritage and has often played a key role in French history.
It has developed an ambitious policy in the arts and is more than ever committed to developing high quality
city attractions for tourism. The art museum, Musée de Grenoble, which exhibits over 1 500 modern and
contemporary works, the Cargo arts centre, an international centre for creation, and the bishops palace
and cathedral, a symbol of rediscovered heritage, are fine examples of Grenoble rich cultural life.
For those
who prefer nature, it is easy to have a journey with the mountain train, a ramble in the mountains around Grenoble
or even guided hikes in high mountain.
A very active student life ensures a lots of pleasant places to have a
drink by night.
